{"id":12749,"date":"2016-02-21T14:51:15","date_gmt":"2016-02-21T13:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/todolivo.com\/en\/?page_id=12749"},"modified":"2020-02-19T22:51:17","modified_gmt":"2020-02-19T21:51:17","slug":"pruning-in-the-todolivo-high-density-olive-grove","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.todolivo.com\/en\/high-density-olive-groves\/pruning-in-the-todolivo-high-density-olive-grove\/","title":{"rendered":"MANUAL AND NATURAL OLIVE GROVE IN HEDGE PRUNING"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">At Todolivo we carry out a <strong>manual and natural pruning<\/strong>, inspired by traditional olive tree pruning, which is extremely productive and which is implemented in an easy and economical way.<\/h2>\n<p>With the <strong>natural pruning<\/strong> we remove the old and unproductive parts and thin the thick trees, letting the sunlight reach the pruned branches in each row and ensuring that the productive foliage created grows from the trunk outwards, that the branches get enough sunlight and capture solar radiation in an efficient way, which helps us achieve greater productivity and higher fat yield levels every year.<\/p>\n<style type=\"text\/css\" scoped=\"scoped\">#g1-section-1.g1-section {background-color: #f8f8f6; background-repeat:repeat; background-position:center top; background-attachment:static;}<\/style><div id=\"g1-section-1\" class=\"g1-section \"><div class=\"g1-layout-inner\">\n<ul class=\"g1-grid\"><li class=\"g1-column g1-one-half g1-valign-top\">\n<h3>Main functions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Creating the structure of the olive tree in mono-conical and\/or false palmate shape.<\/li>\n<li>Keeping the hedge productive and flexible.<\/li>\n<li>Helping sunlight reach the trees.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating harvesting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Methodology<\/h3>\n<p>Pruning is carried out annually and it consists of two different parts:<br \/>\nThe <em>\u201cthinning-out\u201d<\/em>, carried out with chainsaws or shears, entails annually removing shoots or intertwined branches, thinning the trees and cutting and renovating high branches, if any.
